Representative Zach Stephenson’s HF 3488 has been signed into law and will be in effect July 1st, 2025.
HF 3488 will provide children with financial compensation for their role in a monetized social media account, similar to existing Coogan laws. The Minnesota bill will also provide a right to privacy for these minors, allowing them to request a social media platform to permanently delete content in which they were featured.
